On a chilly, misty winter afternoon in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where the United States’ Y-12 Nuclear Weapons Complex manufactures thermonuclear secondaries for US nuclear weapons, more than a dozen hearty souls gathered to celebrate the Ban Treaty on its second anniversary. We vigiled at the busiest intersection in Oak Ridge before moving to the bomb plant where we draped a chain of flags representing the 68 states that are party to the TPNW. We also read excerpts from the TPNW and sang “Ain’t You Got a Right” before heading home.
