Even when the mainstream media covers nuclear weapons, there is almost never any mention of the TPNW. This needs to change. The TPNW is the best tool that we have to pave a clear pathway to the elimination of nuclear weapons. Now is the time to make our voices heard! Click here for a time-stamped recording of this program on youtube.
Right now, June 21-23, all of the 65 states that have ratified the Treaty are gathering in Vienna. Many states that have yet to sign and ratify the Treaty are also there, including three states that host U.S. nuclear weapons on their soil. The U.S. remains conspicuously absent. The strategy of this campaign is to focus all of our coordinated media efforts on three of the top media outlets in the US: The New York Times, National Public Radio (NPR), and CNN. The goal is not necessarily to get as many letters published as possible. Rather, it is to send in hundreds of letters and comments calling for these three outlets to cover the TPNW and the First Meeting of States Parties. We need your help to do this!
Below you will find everything that you need to quickly and easily send in letters to these three outlets. Each outlet has its own document below, which takes you through the process step-by-step.
IMPORTANT FINAL STEP!!! Once you have submitted to any (or all!) of the media outlets below, fill out the form on the right-hand side of this page to report your submissions! None of your information will be shared publicly. This is only to help the campaign keep track of how many letters get sent.
